What is happening?

Juan Cole Link details this Sunday's Sadrist uprising in Iraq. This does not bode well for anyone. Iraq is going to become an even more dangerous place if these trends continue.

What an incredible service Juan Cole is performing! Things so complicated they seem unfathomable can become clear if someone with knowledge is willing to explain. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I wonder if, in the context of civil war which seems nearly inevitable given the accuracy of Cole's evidence and the incisiveness of his analysis, there exist in Iraq forces that are struggling to find a way to bring democracy or social peace against the heaviest of odds, or if, having opened this Pandora's Box, we now must expect a regional war that will make the Soviet's experience in Afghanistan seem like a practice session. What would happen if the coalition forces just disappeared? Where is it possible to find analysis about issues such as these?
